SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A most kindly act was done for the sea.fa.rers in port on, Tuesday by tho Khandallali branch, of the W.N.R. at the Sailors' Friend Society's rooms, when they made the men their guests. The pSnormers were Mesdames Burge and Bath, and Misses Page, Hare, and Messrs. Gilmore, Meek, Tingey, Tanner, Floyd, 1 Smith, and Sonneteon.- Miss Ann Hare was at the piano. "Success" was the title of Mr. Moore's temperance chat. Pledges were forthcoming. Competitions, the prizes coming from the Reserve, Mrs. Styles, and Mrs. R. M. Griffiths, went to the Pakeha and men in port.
