INTENTION
STUDY OJF ARCTIC CONDITIONS.

(AOSTRAUAN • NEW SiBAUND CAILE ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON, Ist August. Mr. Edwin Naulty, American meteorologist, has announced that he will make a flight across the Arctic Ocean to the North Pole., and thence to Spitsbergen, to the North Cape, in Norway. A start will be made from Point Barrow, Alaska, in. September. A stop will be made at the Pole for observation. One aeroplane will be used, and there will be three pilots besides himself. Mr. Naulty declares that adventure is not the incentive, but he hopes to aocom. plish certain scientific results and study Arctic air-currents, magnetic variation, and inclination. The machine will be equipped with wiretess for communication with civilisation.
