The Metropolitan District Labonr Council has expressed the opinion that the Government must shoulder the responsibility of the defeat of the Labour candidates at the municipal elections. It passed the fallowing resolution: "That .his counoil is of opinion that if the Government is not prepared to adhere to the principles of the Labour platform it had better resign office."
