WOODROW WILSON
PRACTISING LAW IN WASHING
TON.
Ex-President Woodrow Wilson is practising law in Washing;on. According to the American newspapers, lie was' admitted on ,25th June to practise before the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia. A special session of the Court was held for the occasion in the chambers of the Chief Justice. At the conclusion of the ceremony the' Justices briffly welcomed Dr. Wilson to the membership of the Bar. The admission of Dr. Wilson is the first under the new rule of Court, by which former Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the United States who are lawyers may be admitted. without application or other formality. To avoid the camera men, the time of the ceremony was not disclosed. Dr. Wilson ■ was accompanied by Mr. Bainbridge Colby, his law partner and former Secretary of State, and Mr. Joseph Tumulty, his former secretary, and walked the short distance to the elevator, which carried him directly to the chambers of Chief Justice M'Coy. The ceremony and reception of the former President were brief.
Dr. Wilson's appearance has changed considerably from that known generally to the public during his stay in the White House. His oyes are sunken, and he looks, as he is, still a sick man. Through the ceremonies at the Court, which were brief, he said little and showed that he was under a strain.
