PALMERSTON N., Ist August. Sergeant-Major and Mrs. A. Sharp, who are to leave on an extended holiday to the United Kingdom, were entertained at a social gathering by parishioners of St. Peter's- Church, with which they have been associated for some time past, and presented with handsome travelling rugs.

Codyre received a similar sentence; while John Quinn, for, drunkenness and breach of a prohibition order, was sent to gaol for a month.
