NOT ALLOWED TO LAND
While the E.M.S. Tahiti has been in port, a third-class passenger, John M'lntyre, who refused to take the oath of allegiance, has not been allowed to land. M'lntyre is an Englishman, and is on his way to America.
John C. Scott appeared beforo Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan and J. Piper, J.P.s, at Petone yesterday, on a charge of using obscene language in Jackson-street. Ho ■was convicted and fined £5, with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment.
A ' San Francisco judge hag accepted Dr. Abram's blood proof showing that on accused man was the father of a certain child, and has ordered the man to pay alimony for the child's support. Dr. Abram's invention is called tho "oscillopsore," and not only determines whether n. man is the father of a child he disclaims, but will also determine age. race, ' ancestry, sex, and personal k characteristics.
