LONDON, 19th July:

There was an exciting coßohision to the match between Surrey and Middlesex, played on the Oval. Surrey won by 19 runs. ;'ln the second innings Middlesex made 350 (Stevens 78- Lee 82). At one stage Middlesex had 153 runs for two wickets. Then, four wickets fell for 6 runs. Fender took four wickets for 125 runs, and Hitch three for 84. This is Middlesex's first- defeat this season!
