(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)
(AUSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
(Received July 20, 9.30 a.m.)
LONDON, 19th July.
Guest, Keen, and Nettlefold, Ltd., in-' forms the Australian Press Agency that there is no truth whatever in the report regarding 'the steel rails contract for India. The firm admits, though the report appeared in practically the whole of the London press, that it hitherto had not contradicted the report. It is still bonsidering the question of issuing a press denial.
[It was reported that Guest, Keen, and Nettlefold, Ltd., Birmingham, had secured a contract to supply the Indian railways with 13,500 tons of steel rails at £10 2s 6d per ton, which was 15 per cent, below the Belgian and 3^- per cent, above the German, quotations.]
