[The Llandovery Castle, was torpedoed on 27th June, 1918, 100 miles from land and nearly 300 miles from the prohibited area. Of 268 people on board, -234 lost their lives.]

PARIS, 11th July. M. Briand, in the Chamber of Deputies, referred to''the scandalous, acquittals at the Leipzig trials. He Said the Government wa6 opposed to all military intervention, but would maintain the sanctions agreed to in London.
