A CONTRACT ABROGATED

A case of interest to contractors was heard in the Lower Hutt! Magistrate* Court to-day, before Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M. A, written contract was madn between A. J. Kearns, as owner,. and Alfred Wass, as contractor, for th« plastering of a residence, Wass to Bed all materials and labour. The terms were afterwaids verbally allered, Kearns finding the material The Bench held that alterations made abrogated the contraot, and that plaintiff could sue only for-his labour, and not under the contract. The claim was for the sum of £27, and judgment was given for the amount of £8 2s,''with 46s costs.
