PERSONAL MATTERS
Mr. E. Kellett, M.P., of Dunediri, is at present in Wellington on business connected with his constituency. Councillor C. B. Norwood left by the Main Ti-unk express this aiternoon for Auckland on a business visit. He expects to return about Wednesday next. Mr. W. G. Macdonald, Chairman of the Board of Trade, left for Christohurch last night. Before returning to Wellington next week he will attend to various matters connected with wheat control. Mr. A. Leigh Hunt, president, and Mr. J. M. Whiteman, vice-president, were re-elected at yesterday's annual meeting of the Wellington Sub-Pro-vincial New Zealand Farmers' Union. Mr. Jas. Herdmah has been offered the position of gasworks manager to the Carterton Borough Council. There were eight applicants, and, failing Mr. Herdman's acceptance, the position will be offered to an applicant from Waihi or Woodville.
