AUSTRALIA'S DISPLAY AT NORTHAMPTON.
(UNITES PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COMRISHT.)
LONDON, 23rd June.
Australia's innings against Northants is a record for the ground, the previous best being Surrey's 619 for. five wickets in 1920. Macartney hit thirty-one fours, one three, and twelve twos. Ryder hit ten fours. Both were chanceless innings. Northants's poor display is inexcusable, as it was a batsman's wicket.
