The Petit Parisien refers to the exaggerated comments in other newspaper© regarding the Imperial Conference, paxtieularly the Matin's suggestioii-tbat the ' British and Colonial Empire is on the way to collapse. The Petit Parisien saya the reality is that an evolution is1 proceeding in the British Empire, such as occurs in all countries. with vast colonial possessions. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand share with the United States a profound aversion to yellow immigrants, and oonsicler that, in the contingency of their needing protection against Japan, the American fleet and army are able to give more immediate protection than'the British. The idlea of Britain and the United States ever coming into conflict is monstrous.
