The Mauaig-ement Committee of. the Rugby Union! is to be congratulated on the ersction of aecore boaid' at Athletic Park. There is nothing elaborate about] "it, add it does not give any, indication as to the nature' of th% scores'nor the scorers, but.it fills the bill as a plain, bold ad.vertisemernlt of the position of the game from time to time. The cite is well chosen, visible to all against the skyline, and never in shadow. Coupled with the numbering of tie players, thin represents the greatest improvement to the game from the spectators' point of view Rugby has seen locally for a long while. The clay bank on the western side of the Park is ndwr being opened up to provide terraces for spectators, and this will give accommodation for about 1600 spectator*. If the union charges a little more for admission nobody should gruihbJe., ■ . v '.. Mr. W. Roy, secretary-of the Oriental Club, has been, transferred to Pahiatua,. and will leave Wellington on Monday next. He will be graaily missed by the club,; and the Oriental Fourth' A team in particxilar, having been an enthusiastic coach for the lads, who have had an unbeaten record..
