MIRAMAR HOUSES

Occupiers of Government houses at Miramar appear to be well satisfied, stated the Minister of Labour (the Hon. G. J. Anderson), after making a visit of inspection .yesterday. A few complaints had been made, but some of these arose from the houses having 'been occupied before they wore quite ready. Post and wire fences are' being erected, as high board fences would have cost about £20 for each house, ai>d tho Department has aimed at keeping down costs as far as possible. If the occupiers plant hedges they will have good fences in a few years, and, with regard to future development, the Minister indicated that the work of the Housing Department is dependent on the financial situation. He hoped to be able to proceed with the erection of additional houses.
