OTAKI, 30th May. . The Manakau branch of the Farmers' Union held its annual ball on Friday night. The attendance was large, and all appeared.to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Tho decorations, although not elaborate, were very' effective. Tho Williamson Orchestra (Levin) supplied first-class music," the floor was in sood order, while Messrs. W. Bevan anflH. G. Bryant provod efficient M.C.'s. Tho supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs. H. G. Bryant, while the whole affair was gonerally supervised by Mr. M. F. Miles, ttn enorgotic secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tshenvood, who have been. residents, of-this district for some considerable time, leave Otaki oil Wednesday morning for Wellington, where they join tho lonic for England on Saturday. They will take up residence' in South Wales. Mr. and Mrs. Ishorwood carry with them the test wishes of many friends.
