Police cases at. the Magistrate's Court to-day wero taken by Mr. F\ K. Hunt, S.M.

Four first-offending inebriates wero dealt with in the usujj manner.

A senteue of fourteen days' imprisonment was imposed on Joseph Johnstono, alias Smith, who was' making his seventh appearance ioc drunkeunsss acd hia fourth for a breach of his, prohibition order.- Johnstrae's "list" showed thatf he had been convicted on 72 occasions.

John George Winton, charged- with the theft at Otaki of one; horse valued at £10, the property of Ronald M'Chesney, was remanded for oio week.

Arthur Stevens and William Kerr M'Coll, _ charged with breaches of their prohibition order, were each fined 10s and 7s costs.

Leonard Harvey and Robert R. Oox, who were charged with giving a false alarm of fire, were remanded for a week.

On a charge of tho theft on 22nd July, 1920, of a motor radiator, valued at £12, the property of John A. Smyth, James Loach was remanded until next Friday. Mr. H. F. O'Leary appeared for the accused.

For failing to attend drill Wallace Bruce was fined £L and 7s costs.
