AUCKLAND, This Day. An enthusiastic meeting was held hero under the auspices of the Women's Zionist Society in furtherance of a proposal to train, equip, and maintain a Plunket .. Nurse for Palestine. ' Mrs. David Nathan, president of the Women's Zionist Society,. occupied the chair, and submitted full details of the scheme. She said that in child welfare Now Zealand led the world. The scheme proposed would be a splendid contribution from the Jewish women of New Zealand to the work' of reconstruction in Palestine. She announced that the services of,a trained nurse had been secured who would proceed to Palestine' after undergoing training in child welfare work at the training centre established by Dr. Truby King in London.

It was decided to hold a garden fair and bazaar in the Town Hall in August to raise the Auckland quota of the New Zealand Fund. Influential committees were elected, and the support of the whole of the Jewish community is assured.
