G/Coates) statedI'here that he had decided to provide relief for unemployed in this district in the form of road-work on the Wharerata Hill,; on the Gisborne-Napisr road. Ho could offer no encouragement as to the immediate tackling of _ railway construction here in a business-like manner until'ho was able to concentrate plant and labour on the route. - Mr. Coates continued his tour northward this morning.
