ALLIES CONSIDERING PRO
POSALS.

LONDON, 9th May. In the House of Commons. -Mr. O. Harmsworth (Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs), stated that the Poiish insurgents had overrun tbo whole of the plebiscite area, to the river Oder. The Allies were considering proposals for the .settlement of the trouble, and steps were being taken to strengthen the police. Tile Polish Government had been^ requested to close the frontier, and prohibit^ the assistance or encouragement of the insurgents. Mr. Lloyd George said that it was unfortunate that the incident should have arisen when the German Government was making up its mind on" the disarmament question. Britain was doing her utmost to bring pressure to bear on the Polish Government.
