NEW PRISON CAMP

Thft prison camp near Lake i Roto Aira, in the Waimarino district, which was es: tablished by the Prisons Administration some few years ago, has been removed to another site at Erua, on the Main Trunk Line. The Hon. E. P. Lee, Minister of Justice, visited the camp last week in connection with the change of. site. He informed a Post reporter this morning that the re-establishment of the camp in its new location was approaching completion. The buildings which formed the old camp at Roto Aira had been removed to Erua, and the prisoners were now en: gaged in forming the grounds, which are surrounded by heavy trees. The new site was a picturesque one, not far from the railway line, and much useful work would be undertaken by the men who will be sent to the camp.
