FAIR WEATHER

The majority of people do not know what an anti-oyclone is, nor do they care much; but they ought to be grateful to the phenomenon of that name which has settled ,over the Dominion for several days past, and still jemains. It has meant almost unvaried fan- weather appropriate to the season —fine days, cold nights, and only a moderate amount of wind. As the atmospheric conditions are still unchanged, a continuance of these comfortable circumstances is expected, though on the west coast and in the southernmost districts unsettled conditions with misty rain are likely. The barometer is steady in tho North, but shows a falling tendency in the South. Moderate to strong easterly winds are anticipated north ol Kawhia and East Cape, and variable elsewhere, with easteries backing to northerlies and then freshening.
