STRENGTHENING THE ARMY.
(Received April 30, 1 p.m.) ■ PARIS, 29th April. The Chamber of Deputies has adopted a Bill authorising the temporary retention of soldiers who have completed three years' service. By this means'the army will be maintained in sufficient strength to enforce the Versailles Treaty without calling up other classes.
