PRIZES PRESENTED AT WELLESLEY COLLEGE

The swimming prizes won by the boys of Wellesley College during the season were presented yesterday by Mr. Ludy. Langer, the American swimmer. Mr. G. S. Hill, Chairman of the Wellington Swimming Centre, and' tha WelMuigtoiii branch of tho Royal life Saving Association, and several members of the executive were also present. Mr. Langer congratulated the boys on thej' number of certificates they had) won for life-saving and distance swimming. He urged them to pay careful attention to tQiedr instructors, andi try to improve their style. He attributed his success to his. following the aidvic* of his coaches'. He little thought when he was a- boy that he would 'be representing 1 America at the Olympic, games *ndi in Australia, and he hoped' that he wouldl one day see some of the boys competing in Aiherioa.

Mr. Hill also addressed the boys. Ha congratulated them upon having such am enthusiastic sports master as . Captain Duffy, whose influence could be plainly discerned in all the schools with which he bald been, connected. Every one was ! benefited by swimming. < It. helped to build up a healthy body, which alone made possible a healthy mmd 1. Swimming was still not receiving the atenition from schools that it deserved, and' he was pleased 1 to see the boys and .masters of WeMesfey College setting such a good example.
