THE BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL FILM CO.,LTD. In this isau« will be found the prospectusof the British and Continental Mm Co., Ltd. The original company swrted some seven months ago, only, with a capital of £10,000, aid has met vnth. such great and immediate success J!?n™ .atlve employment for another ! 4-w.uoo is assured, to the great "advantage, not only of investors, bat also of picture patrons throughout New Zoa land. It must be understood that the company's operations are confined to acquiring and releasing the bast British and Continental films, which is not only eminently sound and safe, but in accordance with the pronounced official and public demand in this country. The offer of shares ie not in the nature of a speculation, but of a gilt-edged investment. Up to the present th« company has only leased the films which, though a very paying proposition, has meant in practice that' the cream of the profit has been secured by tho picturetheatre proprietors. Now, however, power has been taken, and will be exercised, to lease or otherwise to acquire ' theatres in which to release the com-, pany's magnificent films. The day is' gone by when the New Zealand public was satisfied wilh a procession o! crime and sox problem films of alien origin, and it is because of this, because of thi> company's capital being much too smaii to cater for even a fraction of the business offering, that' an appeal is made for the wherewithal to extend its operations to the great advantage of the New Zealand picture world in general and the shareholder! in particular. i The estimated receipts and expenditure for the ensuing twelve months of the new company are conservatively »v.i safely baaed on the experience of the old company's operations. In this connection it roust be noted that, while the latter hag been in operation since September, 1920, only duiing the last two or months has any revenue been coming in. Not only has the enormous outlay for films and general heavy initial working expenses been overtaken, but a reasonable profit is shoivn. Copies of tho balance-sheet for the period mentioned, full prospectuses, articles, etc., forms of application for shares, and any further information may be had on application to the company's representative, P.O. Box 78, Wellington. , It should be noted that only a certain proportion of tho capital subscription invited may be available for each district, and that early^application is desirable to avoid disappointment. Among tho company's films so far released .are: —Keeper of the Door, Darby and Joan, Lady Noggs, It's Happiness that Counts, Master of Men, Rocks of Valpre, Spinner o' Dreams, Sweet and Twenty, Fabiola, Countess Sarah.—Advt.
