FAREWELL APPEABANCB
TO-NIGHT.
Everything is now in Teadiness far the farewell appearance of Ludy Langer, the world's champion middle •distance swimmer, at the Tepkl Baths this evening. This will be the last opportunity afforded Wellington swimmers, and followers of the sport, of seeing the swimming champion in action. Langer's record is indeed an enviable one. At home in his own country, the land of the Stars and Stripes, he ranks among the foremost swimmers of the day. He represented America at the last Olympic Games., In Australia Langer put up five new record^ and in hi* N«w Zealand tour has already broken three. It is the champion's intention to-night to attempt to lower the 220 yards Tecord. An interesting and varied programme has been arranged for this evening, and Langer, besides competing in the events, will give an exhibition of swimming, showing how and how not to swim. The programme ■will commence at 8 o'clock. Popular prices are being charged.
