WASHINGTON, 22nd April.
Jt is understood that Japan and France have accepted America's contentions concerning the distribution of the ex-German cables. Decisions to that effect are being reached by the International Communications Conference, but pending settlement of the Yap matter the actual distribution of the Pacific cables will be held ifi abeyance.
It is understood that the United States will receive the Guam to Yap, New York to Brest, Halifax to Pen^ance cables. France will receive the exTQerman cables on the African coast, and Britain will receive the Canadian-British cable, now owned by the United States.
WASHINGTON, 21st April. It is understood that Japan and France have accep.ted America's principle regarding the distribution of German cables as *iut forward at the session of the International Communications Conference held at Washington. The United States gets the cable from Guam tp Yap, and Japan one from Yap tp Shanghai probably, when its status is settled.* r
