Sit Robert Stout, K.0.M.G., ohairman of the Wellington Unitarian Free Ohurch, will represent the New Zealand Unitarian Association at the conference of the British and Foreign Unitarian Association, to be held in London.
Mr. W. T. Jennings, M.P., who has been spending a few days in Wellington, loft yesterday for Te Kuiti, where his constituents are entertaining him .prior to his? departure at the end of the month for Egypt and Gallipoli, to visit the graves of his two sons, who weTe killed in the late war.
Sir William Hall-Jones, M.L.C., will leave by the Ruapehu next week on & visit to England. He expects to return in time for the main business of next session of Parliament.
Mj. J. W. Bollinsj Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, is in the South Island.
Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, has returned to Wellington after a visit to Auckland.
Mr. E. W. Dalton, British Trade Com missioner, is visiting the South Island.
Mr. J. P. Maxwell left by the Manuka on a visit to Australia.
Mr. A. T. Donnelly, Crown Prosecutor at Ohristchureh, is in Wellington.
Mr. R. J. King, fourth son of the late Mr. Jas. King, watchmaker and jeweller, of Wellington, and brother of Mr. Wm. King, of JohnsonviUe, died at Wanganui a few days ago as the result of an attack 1 of pneumonia. Deceased, who was only 37 years of age, was custodian of the Wanganui Municipal Baths for the past ten or.twelve years, and was to a great extent responsible for the popularity of swimming in the Wanganui district. As a swimmer, footballer, and all-round athlete the late Mr. King had a large oircle of friends and acquaintances, whose sympathy will go out to his; widow andi three young children.
Mr. P. D. Leslie, New Zealand manager of the Colonial Mutual Assurance Company; who returned from Australia on Wednesday, has been appointed manager of -the South African brandies of the company, with headquarters at,Capetown, and will leave New Zealand in about a month. Mr. Leslie, one of the best-known of New Zealand insurance managers, has been in the Colonial Mutual Office for about 35 years, and has been New Zealand manager since 1906. Mr. Leslie returned from an extended tour of the United Kingdom about three months ago. Mr. A. PI. Johns, of the company's Melbourne office, will succeed Mr. Leslie as New Zealand manager.
