MELBOURNE, 15th April. A cable message from the /Board of Trade,® London, instructed the Commonwealth Bank to cease payments on Australian butter on account ofthe Imperial Government contract, which concluded on 31st March. No explanation^ of the action has been given. Outstanding payments under the contract with New South Wales "total £120,000, and with Queensland £142,000. In view of this, a reply has been sent that the terms of the contract be adhered to.
