GEORGIA MURDER TRIAL
GRUESOME DETAILS.

VANCOUVER-, 6th April. At Covington, in Georgia, 01yd c Man ning, a negro, testifying at the Willims trial, told gruesome details of how throe negroes were murdered a' week after the Government agents questioned! them regarding the alleged peonage existing on the Williams's estate. Manning swore that at Williams's orders he and another negro tied two men together with heavy chains. The victims begged! for mercy, and Williams said : "Throw them in the river." Manning and his helper then threw them over a bridge. Later, the negro who helped Manning himself was weighted with chains, a-nd drowned, to prevent him talking.
