NEW YORK, 16th March.

It is understood that Canada will ask Australia to come to the United States to play oft the preliminary Davis Cup match, and it is expected the winner will probably also meet the winner of the Spanish-British match in the United States. It is thought that Japan and the Philippines will play in the Orient, Spain and Britain in England, CzechoSlovakia and Belgium and France and India in Europe, and Argentina and Denmark in the United States. The ,United States Tennis Association has announced that the entry list ha* closed, and that no further challenges will be considered.
