GILBY'S COLLEGE PICNIC

The day students of Gilby's College held their annual picnic at Day's Bay on Wednesday last. After a short sports programme had been gone' through, the students indulged in swimming and played tennis and other games according to their indivdnal tastes. The winners of the various events are as under :— 440 yds Handicap (boys) : H. Dyson 1, L. J. Eeid-2. 225 yds Relay (girls) : Vera Charman, Queenie Philips, and Madge Colley 1; Thelnia, Parfitt, Grace Judge, and Norah Gully 2. 220 yds Handicap (boys) : L. K. Thompson 1, H. Dyson 2. 75yds (girls) : Hazel Dewhurst 1, Gretta Stark 2. 50yds (girls) : Dolly Dyson 1, Hazel Dewhtirst 2. 50yds Three-legged (girls) : Thelma Parfitt and Doris Hull 1, Vera Charman and Oliv© Mitchell '2. Thread-the-Needle : Madge Colley and Queenie Philips 1, L. J. Reid and J. D. Williams 2.
