NELSON, 17th March. At the Band Contest further results were : —

B Flat Cornet Solo.—B. Wills, Invercargill Hibernians, 99 points, 1; F. Lound, Marton, 96, 2; R. A. Wills, Invercargill, 95, 3; W. H. Osborne, Bth South Canterbury, 94, 4. The ju-dge said that the competitors maintained a very fine standard; it was better than for some time. He regarded the winner as a marvel. There were twenty-one competitors.

Flugel Horn Solo.—B. Ward, Christchurch Tramways, 81 points, 1; B. U. Johanson, Palmerston North, 74, 2; J. Walker, South Canterbury, 68, 3.
