RHODES AND RUSSELL SCORE DOUBLE CENTURIES.

The cricket match, England v. South Australia, was continued) to-day.. Therewas brilliant weather, and the wicket was still in excellent order. The attendance was small.
Bussell and Rhodes continued England's first innings. The former immediately be-came aggressive, but Rhodes was' cautious. He gave two possible chances with succeeding balls off Richardson, in the slips and to the bowler. Russell,- scoring fast with faultless strokes, 'overhauled Rhodes, scoring 78 to Rho-des's 42.
After lunch Ruseell, batting brilliantly, scored all round the wicket. When at 137 Rhodes should have been run out, but the wicketkeeper failed to take the ball when Rhodes was yards away... The partnership was not dissolved until 397 was reached, when Russell, after cony ploting his second century, hit across a straight one from Murray. The partnership yielded 368, which approaches the world's record of 398 for the second wicket. Rhodes, batting cautiously, brought up tho second century. When at 210 he missed a "googly" from Smith, and was stumped. Ho batted for 315 minutes, and hit seventeen 4's. Douglas and Woolley played out time, Woolley hitting 20 in one over off Smith, including a magnificent sixer into the-pavilion. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. First innings 195 ENGLAND. First Innings.
