WINS TO NORTH AND PETONE
OLD BOYS BEAT EAST.
The concluding day of matches m the Senior Championship series on Saturday produced some good cricket. Old Boys finished their game with East, started on the Basin Reserve, at Kelburn Park, and won a two-point victory on the first innings by 295. To Old Boys' total of 378 East replied with 83 and 142 for five wicketa.
Hutt and North played out aai interesting game. North had made 175 on the first day, and Hutt 104. for five wickets. Resuming on Saturday, the suburban eleven carried their total to 162, only a dozen runs short of their opponent's score. North went in again, and by solid batting, Burton (not out) 54, Robinson 33, and Fulton 29, reached 149 for the loss of four wickets when North declared. Hntt had a sporting chance of winning, but against the bowling of Fulton and Middleton just managed to pass the century. Fulton took seven wickets for 50 runs. North won a three-point victory. ' Petone pulled oft' an unexpected threepoint win against Tliorndon. The suburban team were in a minority in the first innings—Bß against Thorndon's 111, Next time Petone made no mistake about it, and with Brice (52), Fiulayson 39, Hamilton (31), M. F.
