Amongst the ex-German ships allotted to Great Britain which have not co far been disposed of are the giant liners Imperator and BismaVck, and there are suggestions that they will eventually, be bought by the Cunard and the White Star Lines respectively. Since the first offer to shipping firms of the ex-German vessels was made early in September, steamers of various descriptions have been sold by Lord Inchcape, acting for the Government, at the rate of more than one a day. It is believed that 120 vessels have now been disposed of, consisting of 116 steamers and four sailing ships.
