The Nelson Jockey Club's Meeting commenced to-day, in beautiful weather. There was a large attendance, and the totalisator handled £16,661. Remaining results :— Hope Hack Welter, of 125 soys; seven furlongs.—Lady Lucullus, 8.12, 1; Black Knight, 8.11, 2; Royal Battery, 7.11, 3. Scratched : War Baby 9.5, Zela 7.12. Won by half a neck. Time, lmin 30sec. Stewards' Handicap, of 200 soys; six furlongs.—-Barleycorn, 9.9, 1; Cheer-Up, 8.2, 2; Bunny, 7.7, 3. All started. Won by a length and a-half. Time, lmin 15 sec. Wai-iti Trot, of 100 soys; one mile and a-half. —Lady Dunmore, 14seo, 1; Hopeless, 12sec, 2; Alarm Bell, 12sec, 3. Scratched : Skylark 9eeo, Woodland Rose 9, Plain Peter 9, Eric Rothschild 14, Sweet Kathleen 16, Harold Hue 17. Time, 3min 39 2-ssec. Telegraph Handicap, 1* of 120 soys; five furlongs.—Lord Usk, 7.13, 1; Lady Gazeiey, 8.2, 2; jackaroo, 8.5, 3. Scratched : Fortune Teller 8.3, In the Pink 7.11, Pupil 7.0, Alisamond 6.7, Last Card 6.7, Maritza 7.4. Won easily by a length and. a-half. Time, lmin 1 4-isec.
