SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

An enjoyablo evening was spent on Thursday at the rooms of the Sailors' Friend Society on the return from holiday of Mr. Jas. Moore, missioner, arid Mrs. Moore. The hall was charmingly decorated, and the various vocal and instrumental items were well received by tho large number of citizens and sailors present. Tho performers were Madarues Parsons, Edwards, Muller, Goldsmith, Hill, and Varc, Misses James, Muller, Scoon, Passanj Lewis, Owen, and l3revisky, and Messrs. Parsons, Tucker, James, Jenkins, Johnson, H. and C. Coiners, and R. M. Griffiths, and Master Tom George.: The chair was taken by Mr. H. T. Johns, who, on behalf of the workers and others, welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Moore" back from their holiday. Mr. Moore feelingly replied, and thanked all for making the holiday so bright. He announced that he would take up the services again next Saturday, and that in the evening a memorial service would be held in respect of the memory of the officers and men who were drowned in the wreck of the Omaka recently. Lator, he added, a brass' memorial tablet to their memory would-be placed in the chapel.
