' The.demands on'the dentol department at the Hospital are declared in the customaty report to- the Hospital Board to be such.that the present staff.is totally inadequate. " The, amount of work independent of purely dental'treatment, such as fractured jaws, Vincent's angina, oral prophylaxis, etc., is steadily on the increase. The dental surgeon stated in his Report that he had never known so many fra«tured jaw cases as there have been during the last few months. The statistical side of-the report showed that there were two .cases of.fractured jaws .during the month. The total number of out-patients treated was' 242, aiid'of in-patients' 74; new patients, numbered 63,. ..;.
