MANAWATU

FD

PALMERSTON N., 22nd Feb. At a meeting of the Manawatu Cricket Association a request was received from the Rove. H. G. Blackburne and J. Hobbs that the match with Wanganui bo not) played on Good Friday, as had been, arranged. The matter had been referred to the Wanganui Association, which had replied that it desired to adhere to tne dates originally arranged, namely, Good Friday and the following day. It was reported that the association would probably not need to call upon the 'guarantors of the £150 for the guarantee for the match against the Australians. In this connection strong exception was taken to a comparatively £mall town like Palmer-ston-North having to find £150 for a twodays' match, as against £300 by Welling. ion for a three days' match, and it was decided to protest to the Cricket Council againat the levies made on tho provinical associations.
