A Manila~lelegi-am states that it is understood that Japan has already agreed to pay an indemnity for the killing of Lieutenant Langdon (who was shot by :i Japanese sentry). Admiral Cleaves, who hud been ordered to proceed to VJadivostock'to inquire 'into the incident, returned to Manila shortly after starting. It is understood that he had received a wire'.-egjt tnessago indicating that the affair had been adjusted.
