BYLAW CASES
Numerous breaches of the bylaws were brought'under the notice of Mr. P. K. Hunt,. S.M., a^. the Magistrate's Conrt yesterday. Leonard Harvey and Harold Wall, two taxi-drivers, were each charged with' having driven a motor-car down Willisstreet at an excessive speed. Sergeant Scott described the breaches as the worst he had observed in fifteen years' experience. A fine of £5 and costs was imposed in each case. "Failure to have a light attached' to his - motor-car cost Bert Healey a fine of 10s, and costs 7s. For riding a motorcycle without a light early in the evening, Sidney Jones was fined 10s and costs 7s. On a charge ,-of having played cricket in Myrtle-crescent, M. Pollock and William Anderson were, convicted and discharged, the defendants explaining they had used tennis balls. Alfred J. Canning and Harry H. Morrison were each charged with a. breach of the Eastbourne Borough building bylaws, and fined 6s, and costs 7s. Michael .F. Kennedy, an old mail who had slipped when alighting from a moving tramcar, was convicted and ordered'to pay costSj lls.
