LADIES' PROVINCIAL CHAMPION SHIP

SECOND ROUND RESULTS.

Conditions for the continuation of the Wellington Ladies' Provincial Golf Championship and Handicap Tournament at Heretaunga to-day were anything but favourable, rain overnight and during the morning causing the links to be very heavy. Play was also affected by a strong breeze. This morning the second round of the championship was played, the results being as follow :— Mrs. Guy Williams (Masterton) beat Miss Dorothy Anderson (Cliristchurch), 8 up and 6 to play. Miss L. Brandon (Wellington) beat Miss E. Brown (Napier), 5 up and 3 to play. Mrs. L. Martin. (Palmereiton North) beat Mrs. Widdop (Miramax), 8 up and 6 to play. Miss Gambrill (Miramar) beat Mrs. Mxirchbanks (Wellington), 3 up and 1 to play. A medal handicap is being played this afternoon. The weather conditions still showed no improvement at. 2 o'clock, when rain was falling. SEMI-FINAL TO-MORROW. The semi-final of the championship will take place to-morrow, play commencing at 10 a.m. The draw is as follows : — Mrs. Guy Williams (Mastarton) plays Miss L. Brandon (Wellington). Mrs. L. Martin (Palmeraton North) plays Miss Gambrill (Mirame,r). Four-ball Bogey Foursomes, in which players will choose their own partners, will also be played to-morrow. BOGEY HANDICAP. The Bogey Handicap, played yesterday under conditions that wfsre even better than on the first day, resulted as follows :— ■ First Grade:—Miss Ballour, Napier (11), 2 down; Miss K. Wilson, Hutt (11), 2 down; Miss M'Clure. Wellington (10), 3 down; Miss D. Anderson, Shvrley (8), 4 down; Miss M. Payton, Auckland (5), 4 down; Mrs. Cohn, Wellington (11), 5 down; Mire. L. Martin, Palmerston North (2), 5 down; Miss Withers, Miramar (10), 5 down ; Mrs. G. Williams. Masterton (2), 6 down. Second: Grade:—Mrs. Fulton, Wellington (17), 2 up; Miss M. Ward, Wellington (14), 1 up; Mrs. Tingey, Feilding (12>. 5 down; Mis. Gavin, Miramar (17), 5 down; Mrs. Collinson, Pabnerston North (14), 5 down.
