LABOUR BUREAUX

AUSTRALIAN LABOUR'S OBJECTION

ANOTHER MARINE CRISIS. (UNITED I'MSS ASSOCIATION.—cpPYKKSHT.) SYDNEY; 11th October. The Transport Workers' Federation is convening a conference, of all unions- in the federation, stating that- the reply received from Mr. Hughes (Federal Prime Minister) in connection with the request for the abolition of the Labour bureaux on the waterfront was unsatisfactory, and the only course open to the executive was to carry out the mandate of the federation, as all efforts to avert a crisis had been unavailing. The movement is directed more against, oversea lines than against coastal, though in the event of trouble all services, including th« coftl mines, may be affected.
