THE FOURTH DIMENSION
A lecture on "Facts and Fancies of the Fourth Dimension" —the sixth of a series of free public leotures by the members of the Victoria University College Professorial Board—whs delivered by Dr. Sommerville, professor of , mathematics, at the Town Hall last evening before a moderate attendance. The lecture,, which wa6 Illustrated with lantern slides, was of a technical nature, dealing first of all with the development of the solid body, with the dimensions of length, breadth, and depth, into a shape involving a fourth measurement. Reference was made to instances of the fourth dimension in well-known objects. The Professor received a very attentive hearing, and at the conclusion of the meeting wag acoorded.a. heeity vote of thank*. }
