Northerly winds have prevailed, and have freshened generally, while at Puysegur Point -a heavy north-wost gale was reported this morning. Warm and hazy weather has been experienced in most parts of the Dominion.

Winds—lncreasing northerly winds, strong to gale soon southwards of New Plymouth arid Castlepoint.
Barometer—Fall. Seas—Heavy southward of Cape Egmont, between Castlepoint and Kaikoura, and in Foveaux Strait; rough off the east coast of the South Island; moderate elsewhere. Tides—Moderate on the west coast of the North Island; good elsewhere; Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri (East Cape interrupted), Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Fouhvind, and Nugget Point.
