Wind—L, light; br, breeze; fb, fmh breeze; m g, moderate gale; g, whole or heavy gale; w, gale of exceptional severity.

Barometer—Fall everywhere soon. Seas—Considerable swell on the West Coast of the South Island and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; moderate elsewhere. Tides—Moderate on all the western coast; good elsewhere. Warning signals for northerly gales will be exhibited at sunrise to-morrow at Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwiiid, and Nugget Point. Weather—Mild and hazy conditions generally; cloudiness increasing everywhere soon, and an unfavourable change following shortly. j
