WESLEY SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

The 79th anniversary services of lie Taranaki-Ktreefc Weslayan Sunday School were held yesterday,and in every -way were entirely successful, the church at night being crowded. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. J. G. Chapman, vim gave an address to ' the children on the importa.nce of a good name; it was one's character that counted. In th» afternoon the Rev. M. Readi was the preacher. At night the Rev. H. E. Bellhouse preached' to young nien, specialty stressing the importance of good living, reverence for the holy things of life, and urging the young men to emulate the highest and best. The singing of a choir of 200 children was a feature of the day, and reflected great credit on their conductor (Mr. W. 11. Strong). Solos and duets were contributed by Misses D. Russell, I. Russell, M. Freeman, F. Haymes, V. Hill, W. Eolton, and L. Delbridge. Mr. Hindle offidated at tlis organ. The church was prettily deoorated by the young men, the letters "W.8.5.A." being done in Wjhite arnm lilies and placed in front of the pulpit. The total collections for the day amounted to £60 8s lOd, and it is hoped with donations and the proceeds of th« tea and public meeting on Wednesday to bring the amount up to £100. Tha Juvenile Choir will Tender their competition:, selection on Wedivesday night, when a" the hymns will be repeated.
