PETONE LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB
The Petone League Football Club celebrated its winning of the senior and junior championship by a smoke concert in the Palace Theatre, Petone, on Saturday evening. i\lv. W. Parkinson, in the absence of the president, Mr. G. H. Scales, .presided over a large attendance. Congratulatory speeches were made by the chairman and Mr. Tovey, who attributed the club's successes to strict attention to training. Mr. Evans, in replying to the toast of " The Wellington League," mentioned the fact that League football had increased 100 per cent, during the season, and with more grounds would go still further next season. During the evening presentations wore made to"Mr. -Langi-idge (secretary) of si bag in recognition of his services; a medal for the most improved jjnycr to Mr. J. Knise, and m'edalii to Tctley (back) and Scott (fonvnvrl). the best junior players. The toast-list «»« •'■"< follows: " Tho King," " Tli* rstnna Club." '• Wellington Rugby Leslie." " Onr Opponents."
