That the old militaristic spirit is not dead in Germany'is shown by a farewell address by General Yon Seeckt, Chief of the Array Command, to the men of the heavy artillery and airship detachments, who have been disbanded. He eulogised their achievements in the war, making particular reference to the bombardment of the " fortress of Paris." He concluded: " The unforgettable performances of both branches of the service strengthen the hope that we shall see them once again awake." /
